Role Description: This is a Contract role for a Consultant in Strategic Planning Services with our Client at Watershed Management Consulting, with flexibility for remote first work. A few site visits will get scheduled during the project at the client’s site in Kingston, ON.

The Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic planning services, conducting business planning, utilizing analytical skills, and offering related services to clients.

About our client: They are a government funded not for profit organization and is one of 50 community health centres in Ontario. They offer primary care, allied care, dental care and a range of community programs.

Scope of Work: The consultant will work closely with our Client’s key stakeholders to:

  • Conduct a review of the existing mission, vision and values statements and refine
  • Assess the current state of our organization, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis), or different assessments that the consultant feels appropriate.
  • Conduct surveys, and key stakeholder informant interviews with current stakeholders to gather their input.
  • Facilitate and coordinate strategic planning sessions with board members, staff, and other stakeholders to define the organization’s goals, and objectives.
  • Develop a strategic plan that helps define clear strategies, action plans, timelines, and performance metrics to achieve our business strategic goals.
  • Provide guidance and support in communicating the strategic plan to internal and external stakeholders to ensure buy-in and alignment and remove objections 
  • Offer expertise and best practices in strategic planning to ensure the plan is practical, actionable, and sustainable.
  • Execute completion by Q1 2025.

Submission Requirements: Interested consultants should submit a resume and cover letter describing the following (mandatory to be included in cover letter):

  • Description of the past consulting experience, including detailed description of relevant projects working with similar organizations and expertise in strategic planning.
  • Proposed approach and methodology for conducting the strategic planning process, including timelines and deliverables.
  • Rate card, including all fees and expenses associated with the project.
  • References from past clients who can speak to the consultant’s ability to deliver high-quality strategic planning services.

Estimated project Duration: 80 to 100 hours (Client billable hours)

Payment: The consultant will be paid for the number of Hours billed to the client

Selection Process: After reviewing all proposals, we will shortlist the top candidates for further evaluation, which may include interviews or presentations. The selected consultant will be notified by November 1st week, 2024.

IP: Any written materials and presentations including but not limited to consulting approach, reports and customer communications prepared and developed will be the property of Watershed Project Management.
